guy_smileyStepclever is hosting a new event especially designed to help small companies make a successful pitch and win new businesses.

This is an ideal course for anyone who has to sell their company’s products or services in all business sectors. Business 2 Consumer is covered on the course but the key emphasis is Business 2 Business.

This course will help to refresh sales and principals and relate them into 2009 selling. It aims to help participants to introduce themselves as a manager or a seller and provide some techniques that will provide a new perspective on the customer. These techniques can be transferred to other members of staff and give a stronger sales and customer focus.

This seminar will allow up to four personal one on one confidential 15 minute appointments after the main workshop.

Some participants will be videoed to help improve their presentation techniques but this is not mandatory and will be used to develop and establish some of the course content.

This workshop is part of a series of free workshops to improve small companies chances of winning contracts in both the public and private sectors.

It takes place on 10th March at No 1 Old Hall Street, Liverpool.

Registration is at 9.15am. The course finishes at 12 noon.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Places are expected to be in demand, so book early, contact June Davies on 0151 224 1891 or email her here.

Stepclever is free for everyone that lives, or runs a business in the wards of Anfield, Everton, County, Kirkdale, Linacre and Derby.

Beating The Credit Crunch Ep V – Give Them What They Want October 23, 2008

Here’s part five of our series of tips on how to beat the credit crunch. Put together by our good friends Freedom Coaching, this week we look at making sure you’re giving your customers what they want.

Step 5

Develop new products and services to meet the new needs of your customers. Set up meetings with your existing and trusted customers and find out what they want.

Deliver what they want and they will buy.

Do the same during sales appointments, ask for feedback from your sales team and respond, carry out prototype modelling to make sure the product and service will work.

You don’t need fancy marketing materials to do this, just create your elevator pitch and sell. If you receive orders you have a new product, if you don’t, try the next idea.
Keep it simple and effective.

The next stage of the process is to find your first customer. Sales are everything. No sales = no business.

Liverpool Chamber’s Professional Development Programme has three courses coming up that will help you both create new business and efficiently manage the contracts this will create.

First up is a Sales and Marketing Masterclass taking place on 15 & 16 June. This two-day course will help you find, new and better clients; learn 10 success methods on how to get referrals; how to beat your competition; how to create a brand name and a lot more.

If you feel you need a broader introduction to marketing, our course on 17 July fits the bill. This will explain just what marketing is and how you can develop a marketing plan to boost your business.

Now the work is rolling in, you’ll be glad of our Managing Contracts course on 16 July. This will explain the often dense language of the modern business contract. It will look at all areas, including legal definitions, intellectual copyright and useful case studies.
