Free Marketing Seminar For Business November 3, 2008

Liverpool Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free half day workshop on the 9th December 2008 to assist businesses in the wards of Anfield, Everton, County, Kirkdale, Linacre and Derby to improve their marketing and presentation techniques. The course, funded by the StepClever initiative, is designed to help them win new business. The event will cover both one-to-one meetings and panel and tender situations.

Kevin Griffiths, Director of Commercial Services in Liverpool Chamber of Commerce said:  “These workshops aim to provide the skills and information to tender successfully and win new contracts in both the public and private sectors, focusing on selling effectively and communicating the right attributes. Marketing and presentation techniques will provide either a hands-on, practical refresher, or a first time session on a number of different aspects and demonstrate how to raise the game in personal presentation.”

This is part of a series of free workshops for businesses in the wards of Anfield, Everton, County, Kirkdale, Linacre and Derby to improve their chances of winning contracts in both the public and private sectors.

The public sector alone has £500 billion worth of business available each year.

Kevin Griffiths, Head of Commercial Services at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, working with Stepclever said: “This practical workshop will focus on issues such as can you sell effectively, and communicate creatively? It will look at how to effectively get your messages across to individuals, either in one to one meetings or panel and tender situations.

The session on marketing and presentation techniques will provide both a hands on and practical refresher, or a first time session on a number of different aspects, and show you how to raise your game in personal presentation.”

Mersey Entrepreneurs Targeted By Free Advice Workshops August 22, 2008

A leading Merseyside business support agency is staging a series of free advice workshops for recently established small businesses covering a range of issues including book-keeping, tax and e-marketing.

The workshops are being staged by Blue Orchid at its Old Hall Street offices in the Cotton Exchange as well as locations across the region and places must be pre-booked in advance.

Blue Orchid director Chris Brown said the events are designed to help smaller businesses which need additional expertise and guidance.

“Small businesses do not have the luxury of large numbers of staff for every discipline,” she said. “These events focus on areas which require specialist knowledge and expertise. The workshops are run by people who understand the pressures of running a business. We offer practical advice which focuses on improving firm’s profitability and efficiency.”

Liverpool Chamber’s Professional Development Programme has three courses coming up that will help you both create new business and efficiently manage the contracts this will create.

First up is a Sales and Marketing Masterclass taking place on 15 & 16 June. This two-day course will help you find, new and better clients; learn 10 success methods on how to get referrals; how to beat your competition; how to create a brand name and a lot more.

If you feel you need a broader introduction to marketing, our course on 17 July fits the bill. This will explain just what marketing is and how you can develop a marketing plan to boost your business.
