Blockout screen capNo Friday Fun for a couple of weeks. Hope you’ve all managed to entertain yourselves in its absence – playing with matches and running with scissors etc.

So – here’s this week’s little game to keep you out of trouble: Blockout.

Use your arrow buttons to guide the slippy little brown jobby around the tubes to its eventual ocean-blue home. Manage that and you’ll be flushed with success.

The usual ‘starts easy / gets hard’ rules apply.

Play Blockout here.

bollix.jpgNot nearly as rude as it sounds, in fact not rude at all, Bollix is a nice little game to liven up your Friday tea break.

You have to guide your little ball across the screen to the exit. Avoid the various obstacles and pick up coins along the way. Easy. At least to begin with.

You can play Bollix here.

As an extra treat, thanks to the lolsome people over at Cheezburger, you can take a glimpse in to the everyday life of your humble blog moderator.

It’s ALIVE!!!!!!Today is Halloween, every goth’s favourite holiday and the day the dead rise from their graves and drag unsuspecting souls to their doooom! Fab!

So to help you get in the mood, here’s a few undead links from around the web.

First, set the scene by listening to this mash up of Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus and the narration from Disney’s Haunted Mansion.

Then, impress your kids / neighbours / dog with some expert pumpkin carving. Here’s some designs to get you going. If the Force is strong with you, use these Star Wars designs. Do, or do not – there is no try.

The more ambitious / crazy may wish to try this pumpkin bomb. But it’s probably dangerous, so do so at your own risk.

After that, relax with a goblet of blood and this excellent (and free) zombie novel, serialised online.

Have fun, and don’t get caught by the ghoulies!

Friday Fun – Winterbells October 19, 2007

winterbells.jpgIt’s getting cold now, and the Christmas lights have appeared on Lord Street. So, ample excuse to post this cute little game from Orisinal.

In Winterbells,  you’ve got to make the little bunny rabbit jump up and ping the bells to score points. Easy, relaxing and nice to look at.

And if that’s not enough, have a YouTube video of a cat on a treadmill set to a soft-rock soundtrack for good measure.

Yes, I’m totally re-hashing last week’s B3TA newsletter, but what do you people want? Blood?!

Friday Fun – Ramps October 12, 2007

ramps.jpgThis game is SO easy I’m probably insulting your intelligence posting it.

Ramps requires you to position the, er, ramps, in such a way so that when you release the ball it’s directed into the bucket.

Sounds easy? That’s because it is. But as it’s Friday afternoon, it’s probably best not to get stuck into anything too challenging. It also has about a million levels, so plenty to keep you occupied!

Hotcorn screen capYou are a burning little star of heat! It’s your job to make as much popcorn as you can in the time allotted. Do this by whizzing around the screen to pop the kernels. But watch out for the sticky butter and the water.

Sounds easy enough, but from level 14 on it’s a swine!

Play Hotcorn here.

Friday Fun: Boomshine September 21, 2007

Boom! It’s probably going to be a rainy lunchtime today. So instead getting soaked for no good reason, stay in and play Boomshine.

The object of the game is to detonate your ball in the field of other little balls and set off a chain reaction. Each level requires you to detonate more and more of the pesky orbs.

Despite its pastel colours and slightly annoying music, it’s quite addictive. And by using the word ‘detonate’ in its description, I’ve hopefully given it a macho twist. Think of them as depth charges and it’s like an online version of ‘Das Boot’.

Play Boomshine here.

Aaar!I know it’s not Friday, but it would be too late then, so here’s a little bit of internet fluff to brighten up your Wednesday.

Today is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. So strap on your parrot, polish your pieces of eight and get into the spirit of things.

Ahem…Aaargh!

They come from the land of ice and snowTo celebrate the news that Led Zeppelin are reforming for a one-off gig, here’s a nice little video of The Immigrant Song, as performed by kittens. Beware – it has sound, obviously, so turn your speakers down (or up, if you want to rock out).

If you want to be in with a chance of getting tickets for the Zeppelin gig, you need to go to the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute website and register. Good luck. You’ll need it.

And I, for one, welcome our new kitten overlords.

Monkey!

Everyone likes monkeys. Everyone likes balloons too. Surely any game that features both must be tip top. But what if the monkey has some darts to throw too…

Monkey + balloons + darts = FUN!

What are you waiting for?

Go play Bloons!
