Staybridge Medal WinnersA dedicated and healthy team from Chamber members  Staybridge Suites Liverpool took part in the Nugent Care 5K run last weekend and raised over £500 for the local charity.

This popular ladies only event was set in the splendour of Sefton Park, just three miles from the city centre. Led by Staybridge Suites Sales Manager, Kerry Jones, the team completed the course with ease and made the most of the day as both a great teambuilding exercise and to raise money for Nugent Care.

Talking about taking part, Kerry said “Our ladies team from Staybridge Suites is extremely proud to be running and raising money for Nugent Care. The charity holds a special place in the hearts of the local community and we wanted to do something to help support their excellent work.”

Nugent Care has provided services to those in need for over a hundred years and works at the heart of the community through the provision of extensive services including special education and residential care for children, older people and individuals with mental and physical difficulties.  It also offers community based support and programmes to help homeless individuals, older people and people who are deaf or hard of hearing and is supported by over 400 volunteers and their community groups.

Staybridge Suites is proud to be supporting the charity during 2009 and has other fundraising activities planned for the year involving not only the staff but hotel guests as well.

Nugent Care is also Liverpool Chamber’s nominated Charity of the Year for 2009.
