The City Central Business Improvement District (BID) bites back at the credit crunch by arranging a two hour informal drop in event aimed at offering practical support and advice for Small and Medium Enterprises in the city centre.

This networking event, which is free to businesses in the city centre, will be held from 5pm to 7pm in the Mocha Lounge in Sir Thomas Street on 6 May.

The City Central BID, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Business Link North West, EAD Solicitors, M&M Communications, Hit Search Limited, Liverpool Vision, Liverpool City Council and Merseyside Police will come together to offer practical support and information on how businesses can improve their performance during the current economic downturn.

Councillor Gary Millar, Executive Member for Enterprise and Tourism at Liverpool City Council and BID board member said:

“Little did I know when I brought European SME Week to Liverpool on behalf of the City Council just how successful it would be. I’m proud to say that with over 20 events and more to come, Liverpool is proving to be the most successful “week” in Europe.

“I believe its time for us all to be more innovative and creative and bring events like this to Liverpool.”

Peter Jones, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Industry said “I feel it is more important than ever for the city to demonstrate how business friendly it really is.  We are 100% behind the BID’s efforts to help businesses through the recession.”
