Whilst doing a bit of blue sky thinking and kicking a few ideas around (or checking out the BBC website if you prefer), we came across this article on terrible office-speak phrases.

You know the sort of thing – used by people who think they’re on The Apprentice all the time, the Gareth Cheesman’s of the world of work who would proclaim ‘I’m a TIGER! RAAR’ everytime they answered the phone if they thought they could get away with it.

Examples on the BBC include:

  • I’ve got you on my radar
  • sprinkle our magic along the way
  • incentivise
  • 360 degree thinking
  • wrongside the demographic

Plus a whole lot more. You can read the full article here, but we’re pretty sure the business behemoths of Liverpool can come up with some more. Leave ’em in the comments and the best ones win a corporate team building day in a flooded quarry in North Wales.

I used to work for a large public sector orgainisation out the outskirts of Liverpool, They were the worst offender for this type of pseudo-management speak. I particulary hated ‘Thinking outside the box’ this got overtaken by the even worse ‘pushing the envelope’
