John Haynes, Director of the Liverpool Coaching Academy has kindly agreed to share some of his worldly wisdom with us. Today John shares his Great Rule of Success!

Be The Best!

“The foundation of lasting self confidence and self esteem is excellence and mastery of your work.”

Commit yourself to be the best, be excellent in everything you do. Vince Lan-Bardy once said “the quality of your life will be determined by the depth of your commitment to excellence no matter what your chosen field.” Make a decision today to be the very best at what you do, set yourself a goal to join the top 10% in your field whatever it is, I believe this decision to become the best at what you do can be the turning point in your career and your life.

Top 10%
I have found virtually all successful people are recognized at being extremely confident at their chosen field, I was told a long time ago that no one was smarter than me and no one was better than me. Everyone who is in the top 10% today started at the bottom 10%. Everyone who is doing well was once doing poorly, everyone who is at the top of his or her field was one time in another field all together and what countless of others have done…you can do as well.

Great Rule of Success
Here for me is the great rule of success in business, your life only gets better when you get better. This is the best time to ever be in business in history and since there is no limit to how much you can become and there is no limit to how much better you can make your life and your business.

We entrepreneurs of Liverpool once we have made the decision to become excellent at what we do and join the top 10% in our field this will be the turning point in our lives forever. I believe it is the key to great success and is also the foundations to high level self esteem, self respect and personal pride. When you are really good at what you do you feel fantastic about yourself. Being excellent affects your whole personality and all your relationships with other people. You will start to feel more happy and proud when you know you are at the top of your field.

I am now going to ask you a fundamental question, what is one skill if you developed it in an excellent fashion would have the greatest, positive impact on your business and your life? Learn from your mistakes, you cannot become good at everything right away. What you can do is identify one skill that can help you the most and then throw your whole heart into developing the skill.

Self Direction
Set yourself a goal, write it down, set a deadline, make a plan and work on becoming the best in your field every single day.

Like me, you will be absolutely amazed that this commitment to excellence will make on your life and business. At the LCA we feel this one commitment alone can make you a self made millionaire on your business life.

My action exercise for you is:

  • Identify the key result areas in your business.
  • What are the parts of your business that you must be absolutely excellent at to achieve high results?
  • Where are you strong in your career and business and where are you weak?
  • Make a plan today to get better in one skill area where improvement can help you the most.

You may have heard John say this before, but if you REALLY take it to heart and DO what he suggests, it WILL work. You will never know unless you try! Good luck to all entrepreneurs in Merseyside.
