The Superlambanana has become one of Liverpool’s favourite icons and has even travelled abroad to help top promote the city at the MIPIM event in France.
For Capital of Culture year, over 100 mini Superlambananas will be unleashed throughout the city. Already 370 artists and local people have submitted designs. Wild in Art, who are organising the Superlambanana parade to celebrate Capital of Culture are looking for sponsors to realise 100 of the designs throughout the city.
Liverpool Chamber has signed up to sponsoring a decorated Superlambanana that will be sited outside its headquarters at 1 Old Hall Street. The Chamber’s Director of Commercial Services, Kevin Griffiths said: “This is an excellent opportunity for the business community to work with the city’s vibrant artistic community and produce a spectacular sculpture trail throughout the city, highlighting the talent here in Liverpool.”
The lambs will be on display for a 10 week period between 16 June and 25 August 2008. If you would like to know more about sponsorship visit www.gosuperlambananas.co.uk/
